Eating Clean by Chef & Fitness Expert Jessika Morgan

I believe that the only way to really understand and grasp a "Clean Eating" mentality is to start slow and incorporate clean replacements into your already busy life.  Anything too extreme ultimately sets up most women for failure as they are also juggling homes, kids, a schedule, and most times guilt for allowing any "me" time.

There is Eating Clean, and there is Cleaner Eating.  Eating Clean is a concept that was created by Tosca Reno, it is eating the way nature intended. You eat the foods our bodies evolved to function best on, and that makes you feel – and look – fantastic. When you Eat Clean you eat more often. You will eat lean protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats. These practices keep your blood-sugar levels stable and keep you satisfied. Cleaning up is what I think the first step is for most busy people until they adjust. http://www.eatcleandiet.com is a great starting place to learn more.

Some quick easy tips and rules for starting to “Clean up your diet".

EAT BEFORE YOU ARE HUNGRY...

  • Eat every 3 to 4 hours.  In the beginning you will NOT be hungry every 3 hours.  Eat anyway.
  • Soon, your body will start to rev up and look for a small meal every few hours.  This, my friends, is your metabolism. Treating our metabolism like a clock (always moving) allows ZERO time for STARVING
  • Poor diet choices also leads to cravings and mood cycling throughout the day.  Tidying up your choices takes some getting used to but the changes start to make you feel fueled and healthy.
  • Clean up something you already have in your pantry...

* Tuna fish has a health benefit alone, however mixing it with mayo adds calories, and what I refer to as a non-fueling  fat (no benefits).   Adding a scoop of avocado or wasabi mustard instead not only adds nutritional value but also gives your bland tuna  a gourmet spin.  Scoop the tuna into a red pepper shell a lettuce cup, or over a big salad. This concept is nothing more than taking what you already like and prepare often and making smarter changes.

WATER WATER WATER...
Do I need to say more?  We already know we need 3 to 5 liters of water daily and have heard it before. Most women who have children also know exactly why we avoid this must needed diet requirement. However water is essential for Clean Eating and will help with digestion, metabolism, and hunger.

Busy women have issues with making their own food along with the families. If the goal is to Clean Up the entire house then check out these alternatives.

Otherwise I suggest having the staple clean ingredients ready.  Cook in bulk, that is, one day for the week. Grill 3 packages of chicken instead of one serving.  Get creative and eat as many veggies (free foods) as you can in the beginning.  You can learn to fake yourself out with cleaner choices and feel amazing as you progress.

There is plenty to learn as you adapt to this, BE CREATIVE!!

GOOD LUCK!!!!
